Nauticalia Franklin Pocket Watch Clock- 24cmDisplayed in the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, are the remains of a silver-cased pocket watch - a relic of Sir John Franklin’s last expedition (1845-48). It was found in an abandoned boat at Erebus Bay, King William Island, in May 1859, and it is from this that the Franklin desk clock takes its inspiration. An oversized pocket watch, it has a nickel-plated cast aluminium case and a crisp white face with black numerals. Unlike the original, it has a quartz movement so doesn’t need winding. Takes 1xAA battery (not included). Stands 24cm tall.
