Smartfind 406 EPIRB (E5)

The McMurdo Smartfind EPIRB (E5) is a 406 MHz EPIRB designed to operate with the COSPAS-SARSAT international Search And Rescue system.

Once removed from it's CARRYSAFE mounting bracket, the unit can be activated automatically by immersion in water, or manually by following the activation instructions printed on the unit.

Smartfind EPIRBs are programmed with a unique serial number which must be registered with the national authorities. Where permitted by these authorities, beacons can be re-programmed with the vessel's MMSI or Radio Call Sign.
